Why Facebook Lost Its Fame?

Facebook royalty free image
In the recent report of Edison's Infinte Dial Report 2019 shocking truth revealed about Facebook. The most famous social media saw a decline in usage, from 67 percent of Americans ages 12 and older to 61 percent of that same audience. Even if it feels shocking it was normal for me at least as I stopped using it long back ago. But why? What made us to forget about Facebook?

Facebook Usage Decline report as per Infinite Dial 2019
Facebook Usage Decline per Infinite Dial 2019

1. Trend:
Facebook became famous because of its uniqueness at that time, it was medium to connect with our people, friends, share our thoughts, moments with the world. But as days passed new competitors entered in the market which started making Facebook uncomfortable. Now trend started changing from sharing thoughts to sharing pictures, from using heavy data sucking app to lite app which does same work.

2. Authenticity:
Facebook was the home for most of the fake news. Facebook initially denied such news but after realizing that its becoming toxic they started controlling it by giving ads in newspaper TV ads but that's what people started taking doubt on Facebook. Facebook becoming reason for riots, toxicity and many more wring happenings. There were no way to stop this which actually disgraced the face of Facebook.

3. Privacy :
Privacy is what people care about most but Facebook was exception for it. In 2018 there was shocking revelation came out about Facebook. British data firm Cambridge Analytica improperly breached 87 millions Facebook users data. It raised many questions on Facebook privacy policy and also from this moment Facebook started loosing its shine.

4. Competitors :

As I mentioned above while Facebook came in the light there were negligible competitors which already struggling in the market. Facebook came out as a better option for people who wanted to be social. Facebook became face of social media it was time when people started becoming Facebook addict. But parallely some new social media sites started rising like Twitter, Instagram and Google Plus (RIP G+). People now wanted to try something new and finally people started moving to new social media sites. Thing here which we should not forget, later days Facebook owned Whatsapp and Instagram to stay in the race.

So these are the main reasons why Facebook going out of the race. While we saying Facebook its social media site as Facebook bought many reputed social media site and evolved as company. So, even if Facebook going down as a social media site but they are still leading the race as a company. I hope you liked this blog, comment below what are your thoughts on this?

Android Homescreen Cutomization

'Customization' is the best part of Android phone (so for IPhone users this blog might not be useful). From changing an icon pack to changing a ROM all you can do with your android phone.
Setting a custom homescreen is new trend in Android. Its a simple task in which you have to change look of your homescreen using different wallpaper, icon packs, custom widgets. So, lets start..

There are certain apps you might need before do customization :
1) A good launcher ( Nova launcher, Action launcher, etc);
2) A custom Widget APP (KWGT, KLWP, ZOOPER, etc);
3) A Icon pack (Pixel, Polycon, Lines, Whicon);
4) Set of wallpapers (wallpapers are available in icon pack);

Now lets go step by step
step 1)
In the first step apply your launcher that you have downloaded. Select a launcher that offers you a good customization like custom wallpaper, dock size, grid size, custom icon pack option. My suggetion is to go with Nova launcher or Action launcher, these are best and most used launchers for customization. After applying launcher now remove all the icons and widgets those are on homescreen it means clear your homescreen.

Step 2)
Setting up a wallpaper is an essential step because it actually reflects the homescreen background. There are many dedicated apps are available on play store like Wallzy, Backdrops, etc. But most of the icon packs comes with wallpapers so you don't have to download it separately. Now apply the wallpaper that suits well to your homescreen and icon pack.

Step 3)
Now download any custom widget making app. Best custom widget making apps are KWGT, KLWP, Zooper, etc. Im using a zooper widget pro but you can use any other app too. Now download their compatible custom widgets from play store. You can download according to your desired homescreen setup. But its good to have minimal setup. It looks good.

Step 4)
After setting an widget now its time to setup an Icon pack. Mostly Icon packs are applied which are suitable to your wallpaper. So choose a good icon pack which suits good to your wallpaper. For ex, If you have set a dark wallpapers then Whicon or Lines icon packs are most suitable. If you have set a simple or stock wallpapers then Pixel or Polycon Icon packs are suitable.
Like this you have to choose an icon pack that suits good to your wallpaper.

Thats it! But this is just a basic if you want advanced custom homescreen then you may try KLWP app which allows you to set a live wallpaper like homescreen.
Also dont forget to share you homescreen setup with me in comment section below.
(P.S-Apps that mentioned above are paid but Im providing the links of those apps (cracked) in comment section below you can download from there.)

Internet of Things (IoT)

  • What is Internet of Thing (IoT)?

IoT means interconnection between two physical devices... It may be via internet, bluetooth, wifi, ethernet or zigbee. Iot (Internet of Thing) is basically is an advanced automation technology which is system of interconnected sensors, networking devices, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. These systems are connected to each other to communicate and all systems are connected to internet so what it is called as Internet of Thing. In simple language IoT is network of networks.
These systems allow greater transparency, control and performance when it comes to industrial application.
IoT
Internet of Thing

  • How IoT works?

There is no definite way to tell that how actually IoT works. The main constituents of IoT are various sensors, networking devices and cloud computing and obviously these are connected to internet. These all systems are connected to each other and make their own system. They communicate with each other and take better decision. For better illustration let’s see one example:-
Let’s consider a city having a system of smart CCTV cameras, smart signal system which are connected to central cloud computing devices. Now, let’s consider a situation where an accident happens. When an accident takes place a CCTV camera will detect that so it will send message to central data base and that will communicate to signal system so, by this traffic can be controlled. Also that car will automatically send message to nearest hospital for help.
This is just small example how IoT do his role. This can be applied in big manner to make systems smarter, faster and transparent.
System of IoT
System of IoT

  • Future developments-

IoT is in a developing stage as of now because it needs advancement in all aspect. So there is big space for advanced developments in future. As in future all things will connected to smart central systems so IoT will be more developed in future. IoT will play a big role in making of Smart City, Atomized industries, Smart Houses, Smart cars and list goes on. Till now what we know about IoT or what we are developing it is just 1%-2% of what IoT can do. It will play a big role making human life smarter (and lazy). So, IoT has big future to come and it has more space for development.
For developing it the efforts will require to buisness, governments, standerd organisation, and acadimies to come and work together towards common goal.

  •    Advantages of IoT

1)    Improved customer service:-
When IoT comes in use of industries it will be beneficial. Nowadays if some error or problem occurs then customer doesn’t actually know about actual problem. If we connect devices to IoT then customer and dealer comes to know what exactly problem is and then problem can be solved in less time. For example, If a car stopped working then car owner might don’t have idea what problem is but if car has some sensors in it then it will sends data to service station with accurate problem then maintainers can troubleshoot in no time.
2)    Improved technology optimization:-
Every technology changes day by day but due to IoT it can be easy to collect data from devices to make that device better and better. As from above cars example, if some sensors are not working as expectations can be improved by data collection and analytics. So, by this every technology can be monitored and improved.
3)    Enhanced data collection:-
For analysis of market improvements or improving quality, data collection is much needed thing and it is quite complicated these days. In IoT devises are connected to networks which make data collection easier. IoT collects data on real time basis which can be used fro analysis of market. It will not only collect data but also will process on it. It will save time.
4)    Smart communication:-
As main fundamental of IoT is communication between various systems so communication will become smarter. Due to smart communication user can be notified automatically when disasters, accidents or anything else happens.
5)    Time and wastage saving:-
Being a connected automated system IoT can save time in many case as the decision is taken automated and precise. As IoT collects data on real time basis the precision is high so it can reduce the wastage and also can save money.

  • Limitations:-

1) Security:
First concern is about security. As IoT constantly communicates to devices using various networks it can create a security concern as it can make user details exposed and that can be used by attackers.
2)  Privacy:
Second major concern is about privacy. In this system all devices are connected to each other so there is chance of device can share data without taking user permission. IoT runs on details so data is needed on real time basis and it can void user privacy.
3) Complexity:
As IoT is in just developing stage it is so complex and difficult to implement. IoT systems are complicated in terms of design, deployment and maintenance as multiple technologies are involved in it.

  •     Where it can be used?

It has various application across all industries and markets. It has wide application range like, one can use it to reduce energy consumption in home, one can use this to make production streamlined in industry, etc.
Let’s look at some examples
1) Example of IoT in automobile application:
If a car having a problem in brake line up then that message automatically goes to nearest service station and also main station so it can be checked that some other car are also facing the same problem. If many car facing same problem then it can be checked whether cars having problem of same manufacturing unit or same brake lineup provider. This is how IoT can help to automobile industry.
2)  Example of IoT in making smart cities:
If some building catches fire then alert can be sent to nearest Fire Extinguisher department and also alert can be sent to signal which will divert the traffic. In this manner IoT is useful in making city safer and smarter.
3) Example of IoT in making smart offices:
If you went to office your face will be detected by the cameras which will mark your presence in office also it will communicate with your work station PC to boot up and open important emails. Also lights will automatically get start as your convenience set by you. All these things can be controlled by you also.

  •      Summary:-

The internet of thing provides a great environment to improve human day to day life and productivity. The IoT has potentials to improve common services of transportation, logistics, security, education, healthcare and other areas.
United efforts are required to improve these primary stages of IoT, understandings of environment to take it to the advanced level. IoT can create new opportunities to make human life, businesses and controlling easier.

Android Custom ROM

  • What is custom ROM?

A custom ROM refers to the phones firmware based on Android. In simple word it is modified version of stock ROM.
Since, Android is open source any developer can edit, modify code and compile his ROM. Anyone can add his own features in it. Most of the time custom ROM is more cleaner than stock ROM as they come with least inbuilt apps which make convenient to use.
Custom ROM
Custom ROM

  • Reason to use custom ROM:-

Many time people think that using custom ROM is illegal or wrong thing but it is not. A custom ROM just voids your warranty but it does not affect your mobile if you know how to install it or if you learn how to install it. If your ROM is stable then you can enjoy the customization, the only problem occurs when ROM is in beta stage and unofficial stage.

1) Clean and simple UI:-

As I said earlier most of the time custom ROM are cleaner version of stock rom this makes it light, clean and bloatfree. Many times phones comes with inbuilt unnecessary apps that we dont use and that consumes some amount of battery and RAM in background process but custom ROMs are designed to avoid it. It comes with those app which are useful.

2) Customization:-

Customization is what a custom ROM is famous for. It is a main feature for what people use custom ROM. You can customize your phone as per use and need. You can customize phone UI as per your need. You can change icons of navigation bars, header icons and lot more. You can customize status bar as your need. You get tons of options for changing system overlays.

3) Battery and performance:-

Custom ROMs are designed for good battery backup and good performance. Mobiles are preclocked at optimal speed. If you want to play graphical intended games then you can overclock the processor and increase the speed but at the same time it consumes lot of battery and also heats up a lot. At the other hand if you dont use mobile for games and other heavy works then you can underclock the processor so battery will be consumed less and by this way you can increase your battery backup.

4) Support and Updates:-

Another best thing about custom ROM is you get updates frequently even in some case everyday which is called Nightlies. You will get latest updates frequently which ensures the performance. So, even if your mobile company has stopped support for your mobile you can update your mobile by means of custom ROM. Also if you have any problem then you can ask to maintainer or developer in various forums.

  • Things to know before flashing custom ROM

After reading all things if you decided to flash the custom ROM, then some other important things also you must know.
  • Before flashing a ROM you mobiles bootloader should be unlocked. Mobiles comes with locked bootloaders. Unlocking the bootloader is primary and main step to do before flashing a ROM. This is to be done only once not the every time.
  • Then next important thing is to install custom recovery image. Custom recovery image will replace your inbuilt stock recovery. Custom recovery are easy to use. TWRP and CWM are two best custom recoveries. And then you can simply flash the new ROM after wiping the cache and data.
  • Though flashing a ROM seems easy, if you made a simple mistake then it will lead to bootloop or soft brick or hard brick. Bootloop is a condition where you device will restart again and again but it will not start it can be stopped by reinstalling ROM. Soft brick is the stage where your device will just show your mobile logo but it will not start and this can be handled by installing stock recovery and stock ROM. If you hard bricked your device then you have very less chance to start that device again. But in my experience if you once do first two steps correctly then you will not find any trouble for flashing the ROM rather I can say you will enjoy doing this.

  • Is custom ROM available for all devices?

Availability of custom ROM depends on many things like phone company, device popularity, device processor , etc. If you are using a device which is very popular then you will find lot of custom ROMs. If you are using old and low specification device then you will not find any ROM. The main thing in this is development. If any developer buys a device surely he will build for it and many developer opt for good devices.

  • Where to find custom ROM?

The best site for custom ROM is xda-developers.com. You will find not only custom ROM but also if you have any doubt about it, you can ask there. You will also find lot of posts related to new feature and changelog there.

  • Which are best custom ROMs?

1) Lineage OS ( Formerly known as Cyanogen OS)
2) Ressurection Remix
3) Paranoid Android
4) BlissPop ROM
5) Dirty Unicorn
6) XOSP ROM
7) XenonHD ROM
8) AICP ROM
9) CrDroid ROM
10) MIUI ROM

Future Techs #01

Hello friends. Technology has been changing so fast from last 10 to 12 years and it will goes on changing faster in coming future too. Everything in our day to day life is replacing by some machines or gadgets. They are becoming part of our lifestyle.
So, what kind of changes in human being life will take place or which things are going to change in near future? Lets see

1) Smartphones

Yes, Smartphones! Smartphone market has grown too much fast since past some years because of people are attracting towards it and they are making it as part of life. Almost no one lives without phone (I mean smartphone) in this era. But this is not threshold of change yet lot of innovations to come regarding this.
We are using a smartphone with a single screen but in future smartphones will come with dual screen. You can use front side also back side of your smartphone as screen. Accesing and operating will become easy due to this. Because in future smartphones will be no longer as a just phone.
Security and privacy of smartphone will be the prime concern in future, so fingerprint scanner, face recognition scammer will be lot of improved. In future fingerprint scanner will be placed inside screen so whole screen will become FP scanner. Also IRIS scanner and face scanners also will be improved. So, our smartphones will be more secure in future.
Artificial intelligence will be used in big manner as they will be more improved to communicate with humans. So, smartphones will be communicating with humans with more ease. Google Now, Apple SIRI, Microsoft's Cortana are some example of AI. They will be much improved in future and will make user experience much better

2) Electric and Smart cars

As we all know petrol and diesel are not available in sufficient amount means sources will be ended in future so, how cars will run?
Most of the cars in future will run on electric charging, means cars will use electric charging as fuel. As we see today fuel stations they will be replaced with smart electric charging stations which will be powered by solar energy, so cars will be charged their. Also, lots of vehicles use solar charging roofs so, vehicles get charged itself.
Tesla Electric Smart Car Launching image
Tesla Electric Smart Car launching
In future, human driver will be replaced with auto driving. No human will be needed to drive car. Just select a place on GPS where you want to go car will drive itself to there. It will be safer than situations we have today. Also cars will communicate with signal systems and with other cars so choosing path with low traffic will be easy. It will not take that much of long actually because already smart cars are running on roads in countries like US, UK and China. Auto driven cars are banned in India due to Safety reasons but we will also have that scenario soon.
Companies like Tesla, Honda and Mercedes are invested billions of money in R&D of the Electric Smart cars. Even Tesla has started selling Electric smart cars which has self driving mode.

3) Energy Sector

As population of world is increasing so fast, the demanding of energy will be also so high. We simply cannot rely on Hydroelectric powerpalnts or Thermal powerplants as theses creates pollution and in future pollution is biggest problem (Not for you, Mr.Trump). So, what kind of changes will takes place in this sector?

More focus will be on the Solar energy. Research on solar energy is on peak nowadays , impact of this we will see in near future. Solar energy will become cheap so it will become main source of energy. Most of countries have around 6 to 7 months of sunny days which will create more amount of energy.

wind energy image
Wind Energy

Along with solar energy, wind energy and tidal energy will be also become major source of energy. However these technologies are expensive so these will remain secondary source of energy. Also some more sources are also be introduced in future. Due to this demanding of energy will not become problem in future.

4) Artificial Intelligence

AI inficative image
Artificial intelligence will be biggest change which will change lifestyle of human. Artificial intelligence is a intelligence exhibited by machines. This is more helpful in solving complex mathematical problems. In drones and self driving cars AI will play a major role. In future automotive things will depend on AI.

In future our lot of devices will come with AI by which our work becomes simple. Nowadays Google, Amazon, Facebook( They stopped their project recently because system created their own language that human cannot understand) and Apple are working on it. Google home, Amazon Echo, Apple Siri are some products which totally works on AI.
Now, when it comes to some big industries like Automobile industries or some Assembly industry this will increase speed of production. As  no human is needed their so lot of people will lose their job!
Sometime I thought a day will come when AI and Robots will rule the world and humans will become helpless.

5) Drones

Drones will become part of human lifestyle in future. We can see lot of people will have their own drones for differen reasons.
Drone Image
Drone

In these days drones are mainly used for cinematography, photography and other stuffs but drones can do much more than this. Amazon successfully used drone for their product delivery in US. Amazon named it Amazon Prime Air. Google is also working on same type of drone under 'Project Wing'. In future this will become common. Drones can move faster so deliveries of product will also become faster.

Amazon Prime Air image
Amazon Prime Air
Facebook and Google testing drones for internet connectivity. They want to use drones in remote areas where internet is not available due to lack of connectivity. In future drones will be used in remote areas to give internet connectivity.
Drones will play major part in terretorial security. Many countries are spending amount of money for long range drones for their millitary. So, it will play some roll in security sector also.

6) Smart Houses

Smart house or home automation mainly deal with automation of lightning, ventilation, heating, cooling and security. Also home appliances like washing machine, dish washers, refrigerators will be part of it.
All appliances will be connected to WiFi and internet (System called as Internet of Things). To have control over them internet will act as medium. You can control your home cameras, room temperature, washing machine timer, water heater temperature from anywhere.
Home automation will make our home safer. We dont need to carry keys to everywhere as may have chances to lose them rather than this our smartphones will become our keys. Also in door cameras will take security level up.

Android 'O' (OREO): Things you should know

Hello guys. Google has launched their next Android version  Android 'O' on total solar eclipse day. There were lots of prediction held that 'O' will stand for Oatmeal cookie or Octopus but now its confirmed Android O will stand for "Oreo".
Android Oreo
Android Oreo
Still lots of android devices run on Android Lollipop (Sorry guys but you dont any have chance to taste Oreo 😀) . Only 8% devices got update to Android Nougat ( Guys you have chance to taste Oreo 👍). As Android market is not small, their are lot of Android devices which runs on different SoC's that makes difficult to provide updates.
Google has done many improvements in this version specially in the area of OS optimization and also in improving battery life. Google also introduced some new features that will surely improve users operating experience and will make work some little bit easier than previous version.
So here are some new features introduced in Android Oreo.

 1) Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature

Android O picture in picture mode image
Android O Picture-in-Picture
This feature is available for IOS devices, Android also introduced this feature in this version of android. Its simply let you to watch YouTube videos or other streaming videos while you are working in other window. While watching YouTube videos just press home button, video will pop up in small window so you dont need to pause and come back again to watch videos. This feature will increase user experience of watching YouTube video.

2) Adaptive Notification Dots (Badges)

If you are using previous android version you can observe there is no any notification badges on apps in stock android so many time user opted to install 3rd party apps but in this version you will get a numberless notification badges with different colors for different app. This will surely increase stock Android user experience.

3) Background Limitations

Lot of apps consumes more battery as they run in background , previously we dont have any control over them but now android has added automatic background limits in the areas of implicit broadcast, background services and location updates. So this will help to improve battery life.

4) Notification control improved

In last android versions we had less option to control our notifications in notification panel. We had to long press it and options for blocking and show notification silently were displayed.
However in new version controlling power is user centric. User have to just slide the notification and new option will come where you can set snoozing time for that particular notification although previous option remains as it is.If you want to skip notification for some time you can do it.

5) More options for fingerprint gesture

Till now third party app were required if you wanted to set some gesture to your fingerprint sensor but there was some limitation too them but now android has launched accessibility services for fingerprint swipe gesture now third party apps can improve your fingerprint gesture experience as now you can set your own gesture.

6) Smart text selection

In previous version text selection meant to be just for copying and pasting. In this version word selection became way smarter than we thought. Now you can dial number if you have selected it, if you select address it will directly locate it on Google Maps, it will also detect phrases and so on.

7) Redesigned and some new Emoji

Android Oreo Emoji
Android Emoji Revolution
Android has redesigned all of its previous Emoji and they are now more interactive, also they have added some more real life Emoji. New Emoji are rounder and they have avoided blob design in this version.

8)Notification for running background apps

Just think if you get direct information of which apps are running in background and draining your battery in your notification panel.... Well this is now implemented in Android O, So you can now see which apps are running in background in your notification panel.

9)Performance improvement

No doubt in Android O performance will be improved also battery life will also be improved as they have given more controls to developer to enhance and to optimize OS which will lead to increase in battery life and performance also.

10) Others

A lot improvement has been done in this version of Android. More importance is given to user centric controls and OS optimization. Other than this lot of new features, changes and improvement is added like Auto-fill API (for this developer need to code itself to make it active), New system app icons, New icon shapes, improvement in quick setting and setting menu and so on.
Android also introduced Google Play Protect to keep your apps safe and secure.

Oreo is gonna sweet update but which mobiles are going to taste this sweet?... Well most of the old devices which are running on either Lollipop or Marshmallow version are having almost no chance of getting any update. Android updates are not like IOS updates which release to all devices. Android devices runs on different SoC's, so it becomes hard to provide updates to each android device.

Till now confirmed devices which getting this updates are:
  • All Google Pixel and Nexus devices
  • Nokia 3,5,6,8
  • OnePlus 3, 3T, 5
  • Coolpad Cool Play 6
  • HTC U11
  • Asus Zenfone 3 and 4 series
  • Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy Tab S3 and upcoming Galaxy Note 8
Still many vendors to update their list, as soon they do I will update. Android updates are really slow so if you are using old devices updates may not be arrive. If you are using custom ROMs then it may possile you to switch to Android O.
